We always grab a bottle of Advil when we have minor aches and pains. While it provides a quick fix for headaches, it is not recommended for long-term use.
In the world of pain medication, these drugs are known as Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs). Every day, almost 30 million Americans rely on prescribed drugs as their primary source of relief. Through some chemical mechanism, these medicines can prevent certain enzymes’ actions. As a result, they inhibit your body’s ability to produce prostaglandins, which sometimes lessens pain and swelling. Please watch the video below for a clearer understanding of how they work.
We in the United States are reliant on NSAIDs to get by daily. This is a significant setback considering that NSAIDs are known to be harmful to human health. Do you take anti-inflammatory medications, such as NSAIDs?
Common NSAIDs include:
- ibuprofen (Advil)
- Acetylsalicylic Acid (Aspirin)
- Diclofenac (Voltaren)
- Naprosyn (Naproxen)
- Celecoxib (Celebrex)
In addition to cardiovascular dangers, bleeding from the digestive tract and renal problems have all been related to these drugs. If you’re looking for an over-the-top medication, you’re unlikely to find one that does not have side effects. Tylenol is not safe, even if I didn’t include it in my list. Because it is not an NSAID, I did not include Tylenol in the list above. If you didn’t know, the most prevalent cause of abrupt liver failure in the United States is taking too much Tylenol.
In addition to liver failure, Tylenol’s primary ingredient, acetaminophen, has a slew of undesirable side effects. According to studies, emotional reactions have been dulled by this medicine. Although this ‘medicine’ may be affecting brain activity, such as the actions connected with serotonin, the results of the investigation revealed otherwise (our happiness, so to say.) So yeah, you may be able to get rid of your migraine, but you may also be saying goodbye to your liver and your mood in some way. In certain cases, acetaminophen can cause significant skin problems as well.
Natural Advil and Tylenol Alternatives:
Ginger
It’s a wonderful herb. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help alleviate discomfort. My favorite method to enjoy fresh ginger is steeping it in hot water as tea. This remedy is second to none when it comes to relieving a headache.
Astaxanthin
Antioxidants like this are hard to come by, but this is one of the best. In many circumstances, it’s more effective than NSAIDs at reducing inflammation.
Boswellia
One of the best herbs for relieving joint pain is Indian frankincense. People living with Rheumatoid arthritis should try this plant.
Now that you have this information, I hope you will be open-minded about over-the-counter pain relievers. As a person, you deserve to live a long, happy life. Don’t allow things like Tylenol to get in the way of your happiness.
