Auctions are designed so that the people who bid the highest can get the item for sale. For this couple, the items that caught their interest were the antiques, including this armchair.

It was Angela Milner Brown, 50, and her husband Angus, 47, who gave him the most money. The Scottish couple paid just $6 for this piece of furniture, but they had no idea what they were getting into.

The couple bought the armchair ten years ago and kept it in the attic. They wanted to renew it but couldn’t afford it when they got it. Angus went into the attic about 6 years later and saw this chair. He reminded him of their previous engagements and let him “change his face”, which is what he wanted to achieve himself.

He started to remove the old upholstery and when he reached the last piece of cloth he discovered a big surprise…

The chair was filled with jewels. Angus decides to keep it a secret for now and surprises his wife with jewels. Angus gave Angus the diamond ring she found in her chair for her birthday. He gave her a pair of diamond earrings on Valentine’s Day. He also gave her a diamond brooch for Christmas.

“We managed to bring the armchair back over time and it now looks great. I never thought you could hide something in an armchair. I couldn’t believe the previous owners had this place chosen to display their valuables,” Angela noted.
