Her nieghbors stepped in.

#1 >Fined

Anne Glancey from Hamilton Township, New Jersey, lives here on her own. She’s a retired teacher, and for some time has been overwhelmed with maintaining her cherished property, which was deteriorating before her eyes. She had three violations, and she recieved a letter that said she would be fined $ 1000 for every day the violations went unresolved.

#2 Adam And Kristin

Adam and Kristin Polhemus moved in next to Anne five years ago. They offered to help her several times, but she had said that she would manage. “Until my wife and I moved in, no neighbors had a conversation with her,” said Adam. “She had no relations with anyone in the neighborhood.”

#3 “W’ell Help You”

But when she recieved the notice that she would be fined, they decided to step in.
“She said, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do, I can’t do this myself,’” Adam told us.
“And I said, ‘Anne, we’ll help you get this fixed.’”

#4 WIth A Little Help Fom Her Friends

They gathered the help of other neighbors and members of the church, and the fixing started.

#5 Remarkable

“To have people show up because it’s in their heart to do that, to be there and help a complete stranger, that’s truly remarkable,” said Adam. Just as remarkable as what he did!

#6 Carrot Cake And Orange Juice

Over the Summer, they fixed the exterior of the house and did the landscaping. Anne provided carrot cake and orange juice. If Anne had needed to hire someone to do the job, it would have cost her between 10 and 15 thousand dollars. Which she didn’t have.

#7 Good Samaritans

She will be forever grateful: “They are good Samaritans, really wonderful and thoughtful. Not everyone would arise to the occasion and I am grateful for it.”
