If we want to be healthy we need to sleep well. Sleep influences greatly our overall well-being. If we get enough quality sleep every night, we can protect our mental and physical health, as well as our safety and the quality of our life.

During sleep, our brain has enough time to process everything that we do and see throughout the day. Sleeping gives us energy and enhances our ability to concentrate. It cleans the brain and restores the body.

But our sleep may be disturbed by different factors such as anxiety, poor eating habits and lifestyle, and mineral deficiencies. Sleep deficiency and poor sleeping quality lead to depression, low energy, overall weakness, weaker immunity, and a bigger risk of hypertension.

New research points out that between 50 to 70 million Americans have poor sleep and suffer from sleeping disorders. This explains why so many people feel irritable and are tired all the time.

However, there is a natural remedy for sleeping problems. Bananas and cinnamon are ingredients that are very beneficial for our health.

Sleep benefits of banana and cinnamon

Bananas are abundant in magnesium and potassium, minerals that can improve sleep quality. They also relax our muscles by neutralizing the negative effects that the hormone cortisol has on them.  Bananas are also a rich source of tryptophan, an amino acid that stimulates serotonin production, a hormone that regulates sleep patterns.

Cinnamon contains some excellent essential oils, such as eugenol. Eugenol belongs to the phenylpropanoids class of chemical elements and it gives vitamin A, niacin, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, and also its pleasant aroma. This spice is very good for digestion, improving blood circulation, and relaxing the body.
