Researchers have found that there are some essential oils that are just as effective as traditional dental care in eliminating plaque and offering antimicrobial protection. Two essential oils that would be beneficial to add to your dental routine are tea tree and clove oils. These two oils combined can be a powerful dental treatment.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is known to be an effective antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antiprotozoal agent. It helps to treat viral infections that can cause conditions such as cold sores along with helping to reduce the yeast, bacterial, and fungal infections. It has also been found to assist in the treatment of denture stomatitis and gingivitis. It’s also been shown to be good for cases of bad breath caused by bacteria.
Clove Oil
Clove oil has eugenol in it that has been used in dentistry because it has anesthetic and analgesic properties. This compound is known to be an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory.
