A great Hollywood star lives in love like a movie

Dick Van Dyck, 98, and wife Arlene Silver, 52, celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. Although Mary Poppins was married to a 46-year-old woman for ten years, she expressed concern about public opinion when he married her.

I expected people to call her a treasure hunter and she married an old man. However, no one has ever held such a position,” he said in an interview with Closer Weekly Dick.

He went on to explain that the almost half-century age difference didn’t affect their relationship because they “share the same mindset.”

“We dance almost every day because she likes it. It’s just great,” said Dick Van Dyke.

On the other hand, Arlene does not disappoint. “She’s the most perfect person,” she said of her husband. I have never met such a happy, sincere, wonderful person. It’s like a lucky pill.”

How did you meet?

Dick presented Julie Andrews with the entire career award at the 2007 SAG Awards, where the two met.

When Dick asked, “Haven’t you played Mary Poppins?” Make-up artist Arlene Dick arranged the wedding.

This was the beginning of their romance as they started talking and found out how much they had in common.

Dick hired Arlene as a makeup artist for some of the projects she was working on just a few months after meeting her.

Despite the age difference between them, the two became friends almost immediately. Their beautiful relationship grew into love and they realized they were meant for each other.

Arlene and the famous performer decided to join their fate in 2012, promising to be together for the rest of their lives.

Arlene explained her attraction to Dick: “We broke up as friends right away, so I didn’t feel like he was much older than me.” Nothing has worked for me in the six years I’ve been alone and I think that’s because I didn’t have to. Dick is like no one I’ve ever met.”

According to Dick Van Dyke, the decision to marry Arlene was the happiest decision of his life. “Everyone thought I was crazy for marrying someone in the middle, but she’s my absolute angel,” Dick said.

Dick Van Dyke has four children from two previous marriages. The oldest is 72 years old.

Before meeting Arlene, Dick was in a long-term relationship.

He was married to Margie Willett for 36 years until 1984. Christian, 72, Barry, 70, Carrie, 60, and Stacey, whose ages are unknown, are their four children.

He later fell in love with Michelle Triola, with whom he was married until her death in 2009 from lung cancer at the age of 76.

 

Dick and Arlene made a viral upload on February 14, a Valentine’s Day video in which they danced to Doris Day’s song “Everybody Loves a Lover.”

 

Dick captioned the video “forever Valentine” on his Instagram account.
